National Institute of Meteorological Research (nimr) was found in 1978 to carry out the research on such severe weathers and to progress common benefits by supporting Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). Researchers at nimr have been working hard to develop the new techniques in meteorology, support the digital forecasting system of KMA, and magnify a man power in our common future. Finally, the current mission assign to nimr is to save life and property against disasters and to provide the way to mitigate the climate change in the 21st century represented as global warming effects and abnormal weather phenomena. Establishing a partnership with the other institutions of the world is the step we have passed and will be continued as well.
